[Opinions] Skye
I love the name Skye (girl). I don't know anybody with that name and I was wondering what kind of person a 'Skye' would be. So if anybody knows a girl named Skye and would like to tell me a little bit about her personality, that would be great. If not, what do you think about the name Skye for a girl? And what mn would you give her? Here are some of my fav. Skye combos:Skye Amabel
Skye Autumn
Skye Elisa
Skye Maybel

I don't know a Skye but I know a female Skyler who is nicknamed Sky. She is very cute and extremely athletic. I picture a Skye like . I also think of a very very pretty popular girl.

I also like Skyler, but since I'm bilingual I prefer a name that can be pronounced the same in english and french... and Skyler might be pronounced 'Sky-l'eur' (Maybe you won't understand that... lol) by very french people. :)

I want to like Skye, it's a nice sound and I love the Isle of Skye but everytime I see it it just screams 'trendy!' and 'lightweight!' at me.

I knew 2 Skyes at school (one in my class and one in my sister's class). The one in my class was a hippy (or at least her parents were) she was a vegetarian and she and her family were very close (this was in grade 6 by the way) she had long blonde hair and was tall and thin. She was reall nice (her siblings were Gabrielle "Gabby" and Hayley, she also had an older brother but I can't remember his name). The other Skye had dark brown hair and sort of snobbish but I don't really know mauch about her.I love the name Skye (also Skylar) for a girl its one of my all time favorites since I was a little girl.I like Skye ElisaAlso:Skye Louise
Skye LeAnn
Skye Elise
Skye Marie
Skye Annette
Skye Michelle
Skye Madisonit works really well as a mn too. :)

It seems a little--puns intended--spacey and air-headed to me. Which sucks because it's the name of a Scottish island, which I think is quite nice. But I'd prefer it as a mn, and for a boy. :-/~Heather~

To be honest, I just find it a bit corny. I don't think it's terrible, though. Here are some middlenames...Skye Maria
Skye Amy
Skye Teresa
Skye Morgaine
Skye Violet

I love the name Skye! If our next baby is a girl, we might name her that. I don't personally know a Skye, so I can't say what her personality would be. I haven't come up with any really great mn's, but I do like Skye Mackenzie and Skye Autumn.

I wouldn't know how to predict a person's personality just from a name. The only slight factor that can be gleaned is the personality of the parent, not the child. I do like the name Skye (this speling only), after the beautiful Isle of Skye, off the Northwest Scottish coast. It's a very windswept and romantic isle. If you chose the name, I'd say you have a romantic nature and enjoy the outdoors. :-)

Skye seems to have first been used as a girls' name by the American author Phyllis Whitney for the title character of her novel Skye Cameron. I always think of someone who looks like that character when I think of a woman named Skye, especially in terms of the red hair. :)http://www.phyllisawhitney.com/Skye%20Cameron.htm
