I like Finn, but almost exclusively as a nickname for a longer version, unless it's spelled Fionn which makes it look more complete to me. I do like Finnegan, but also Finnian/Finian, Finlay/Finley, Findlay, and to a certain extent Finbarr and Fintan.
ETA: Oh, and I don't think it's too fishy. It does remind me of fish, but only after I ponder the name for a bit.
