I just thought about this name. It was the name of a girl who got married at the age of 9, I think the youngest bride ever in the western world. Her husband was her neighbor and 22 at the time. Eunice Johns. She stayed married to her husband until he died in his 90s. You can find many articles about her, all of kind of blame her for being precocious. Really disturbing :/I do like the name, it has a great meaning and a pretty sound. It's ready for a comeback. Eunice Hermione, Eunice Calliope and Eunice Tallulah are all really nice.

How perverted and wrong. I don't care how "precocious" a 9 year old is, no 22 year old should prey on her. I blame him.

I blame her parents and him. I know, it's horrible what they've written about her. It couldn't possibly have been her fault, she was a child. Her mother said in some article that she still lived with her parents after she got married and that he never touched her. But she had her first child at the age of 15, 6 years later. Another article said that her husband would rock her to sleep and bought her a doll for christmas. So disturbing on so many levels. I tried to find out whether she was still alive but apparently the media didn't care about her anymore later on. The only good thing: after she got married at the age of 9 a new law was passed that you couldn't get married when you were under a specific age. They really could have thought of that before, though.

I don't like it. It's too close to the word "eunuch" for me. :/

I can think only of this woman---she fits the name to a tee:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mf84vaHD64k&feature=related

Dude, I *loved* Eunice! She was unhinged. Carol Burnett is one of the funniest women ever. :)

Yeah, I love Eunice, too! Especially when she's going out to Hollywood to sing "Feelings" on "The Gong Show" and she thinks she's going to become a big star.

It's one of those names where, if the person wore it well, it could have some charm. If the person was homely, though, it would be too tragic.

I think it's just ugly...Clunky, rusty, crabby, snippy, hateful.

I'm rereading this ya book series from the 70s and the kids in it live with their cousin Eunice for a while, and while the character is nothing particularly special (like, not a worthy namesake, but not a bad person either), I started thinking about the name recently too because of it. So it's on my list for now. I like a lot of your combos; I feel like Eunice definitely needs something brighter and more fun in the MN spot and you have a lot of those. Favorites of yours are Eunice Calliope
Eunice Kerensa
Eunice Magnolia
Eunice Radmila
Eunice Tallulah
Eunice Zakia--Eunice Amy
Eunice Bianca
Eunice Coriander
Eunice Delaney
Eunice Glow
Eunice Harbor
Eunice Harlow
Eunice Harper
Eunice Kai
Eunice Keely
Eunice Naomi
Eunice Peridot
Eunice Saffron
Eunice Seraphina
Eunice Sophia
Eunice Zoe

Until recently, I liked it.Now, not so much. A friend has an former girlfriend named Eunice and she played him like a violin. Now I associate the name with her - whiny, manipulative, vicious and poor me.

How old is this Eunice? I don't think I've ever seen it on someone younger than 70.

23? 22?I originally assumed she was Latino, as old-fashioned names are often used by in that community. I was really shocked when I met her - an early twentysomething with bright pink hair.

I'm afraid I'm one of these people who hate it. It's just horrible, and I really can't find any redeaming features to it... and I -like- ugly-cute!My mother had a friend when I was a kid - one of my sisters was friends with her daughter. She was really pretty, young, blonde, a complete Stepford Wife of a woman, only she had this really sardonic, wicked sense of humour and 'young' attitude and ran circles around her husband. She was cool, kind of bitchy... and really didn't suit her name. I mean, regarding the comment about 'it might be okay if the bearer has some kind of charm', this Eunice was all about the charm, and it just made her name all the more random and unsuitable.

Though I personally don't care for it (probably because I'm old enough to remember lots about the Carol Burnett character), I find nothing wrong with it in the abstract.I find it interesting that this name seems to be fairly popular with Korean-American parents, probably because a lot of names in the Korean language include Eun or Yoon as a syllable.
