I understand why Drew Barrymore's parents chose the name. It's a family surname for them. But for anyone else (outside the family) I don't get why they would want to use a past tense verb. It's OK as a nn for Andrew, but not to stand on its own.

I do, however, love the idea of Dru as a nn for Drusilla. That's fabulous in my books.
