Help[Facts] Adelais pronunciation
I encoutnered this name in my family tree as well as in my Charlotte Yonge's History of Christian Names and the look of it and the history of it certainly intrigues me, but I am unsure of the pronunciation.
Since it was Norman, I would pronounce it like Ah deh lay but since it was contracted to eventually form Alice, this doesn't seem right and the -s would have been pronounced.
Anyone know?
