[Opinions] Veronica
I've been quite taken lately with Veronica. I love how strong it is. There's nothing soft about it yet it's totally feminine. The problem I have is that I really dislike the nns Vera and especially Roni. I know how I am and with a four-syllable name, I'd definitely use a nn so I was thinking about Nica or Nicci. Are they too much of a stretch? What are your impressions of Veronica in general?
TIA.

I love it.
It would be very high on my list if my husband's family was into nicknames - I think Veronica is too much for a little girl. I love Nica as a nickname, it's not much of a stretch at all.

nick-names..I know a young woman named Veronique, and she's usually called Vero, which I like.
Her sister-Christine;never nick-named, usually isn't, in French.
A small sister who died in infancy, Raphaella. Such a pretty name, but sad, for me, due to the little child's death.

Just about anything goes for a nn, and Nica and Nicci for Veronica aren't that much of a stretch. They both work.
I used to dislike Veronica, finding it sharp edged and maybe a little cold. I've warmed up to it a lot over the past year or so, and I can appreciate it now. Not many names manage to be so long, feminine, and low frill. In general, I think it's a good name, not one I'd use myself, but one I'd be happy to see.

I also like Veronica. It is one of my sisters favorite names. I think that Nicky totally works as a nn. Nica works as well. I don't think either nn is a stretch at all. I dislike the spelling Nicci mostly because I'm not certain I'd know how to pronounce it when I saw it unless I knew what it was short for. Part of me thinks it should be pronounced NEE-chee. I personally prefer the spellings Nicky and Nickie. I mean those are nn's for Nicole which is a name that also has no K in it.
