Help[Opinions] Demeter, Demi, Ulyssa, or Demetria?
Hey, this is actually about a character name. I know this isn't the writing section, but I noticed that was mostly for excerpts and plots (or at least that is what it seemed like to me) so I thought I would post here. I hope that is okay. If it not then I am really sorry for posting this here. Maybe I will post there too if that is okay.
I'm writing a story that is set in a different world. It's kind of going to be the Mahvian (Mahvie is the name of the world) version. Right now the character is named Demter, but I'm not sure I want to keep that. Her nickname is Demi so I'm considering changing it to just that. I also like Demetria. Her name used to be Ulyssa however and I do still like it.
I posted this on NaNo, too, so if any of you are part of that you might have seen it. Some people suggested I make up a name, but I just can't stand made up names.
Anyway, I would love to hear what you all think I should use. I wanted to get the advice of other name nerds.

I like Ulyssa the most. Demetria is beautiful, but with the nickname Demi, I find it difficult not to think of Demi Moore. It's a bit too "Hollywood" for me.

I'd pick Demeter, but I'd love it if Demitra was an option

I like Ulyssa. Demeter is ok but all I hear is 'meter' and Demetria reminds me of dementia. How's about Desdemona nn Demi?

I never considered Desdemona but I do like it. I will have to think about that. Thank you.

Demeter or Ulyssa, I'd say. Or Demetria. I don't like Demi as a full name.
Although Demeter is pretty tied to the goddess, so if you don't want people to automaticlally think of her I'd maybe go with Demetria (assuming you're using nn Demi).

But it wouldn't be a made up name in the world of your character. Personally I won't give characters who live in other worlds well established names from our world.

Names that are established there are like nature names. I don't make up names for any of my novels and I won't do that because it ruins novels for me. Besides all the other characters have names
