I put the emphasis on the first syllable, JOO-lee-et.
I'm from the Southern US.
I prefer Juliet over Juliette, but I dislike both. I don't think it's as much tragic as it is trite and saccharine. I prefer Julia, or the myriad of other fabulous names Shakespeare used.
