[Opinions] Re: Luna

I like Luna too, I think it's a really sweet, simple, and quite elegant name. But I would only ever use it as a middle name, because my first thought (and probably many other people's) is always Luna Lovegood.
Luna Lovegood is such an individual, unique character (and most likely the first encounter a lot of people had with the name Luna) that a person called Luna could get "but you're nothing like Luna!" It's like naming your child Hermione. Even if you genuinely like the name and were not inspired by Harry Potter in any way, it still seems like that because the name is so uncommon.
Is Luna actually getting common?? Not where I live, at least. But it probably will as the Harry Potter generation starts to have babies.
And with the 'loony' element, well Luna does kind of lend itself to less desirable nicknames, and I'm sure heaps of people would see it as a ridiculous name choice (but I'd say that happens with millions of names).
