Why would you not like Woodrow!? It's so cool compared to other wood-name options you might dream up. I love Woodrow. Woody is the main reason I don't like it more. I just keep thinking of the crude slang term, and how it sounds sort of like Rudy said through a mouthful of food. It seems about as revivable as Dick. But when you mention Woody Guthrie, it doesn't seem as bad.

I just don't like it phonetically or how it looks. Just seems like a disorganized cluster of letters.

my thoughts! Woodrow is def the coolest of the Woody options. There's also Fleetwood.
I like Woodrow, and actually I'm a big fan of Woody Harrelson, so I want to like it more than I do. But aside from the unshakable slang associations, it just doesn't sound nice. I keep doing this breathy progression in my head: woody ---> wooty --->whooty ---> hooty ..... Hootie and the Blowfish!

I was inspired by you, to google "Woody and the Peckers" because I thought there HAD to be such a band. Sure enough there is. Har.
