[Opinions] Arden
What do you think of Arden? I prefer it on a girl. Which nicknames could be used? I can only think of Ardie but I'm not that much of a nickname person anyway.

I like it. I think boy when I see the name, but I like it on a girl too. I don't think it needs a nickname, it's only two syllables.
This name is actually a bit of a GP for me and I too prefer it for a girl. I don't think it needs a nn at all.
I think of ardent - medieval bodice-ripper characters are "ardent" - sounds vaguely sexual. And the cosmetics & perfume. Together those make it seem too lipsticked-up to me. If just one of those associations disappeared I might like it okay. It sounds place-namey (Ardennes?).
Ari / Arrie or however you might spell AR-ee

I kind of like it, but I think its too masculine for a girl. Ardie or Denny are the only nicknames I can come up with.
I associate it with Elizabeth Arden cosmetics, so I think of it as feminine. I can't say I like it much, even though the similar Ardent is one of my GP word names(for a boy).
Besides Ardie, the only one I can think of is Deni/Denny. I don't think it needs a nickname at all.

I like it but for me it's decidedly masculine. I think nicknames would be either Ardy/Ardie or Den/Denny.
I kind of like it but I prefer it on a boy.
I prefer it on a boy, but I like it on both. I find the sound appealing and spunky.
All I've got is Ardie too, sorry. I'm in the same boat with Afton :)

I agree with you on Arden. I prefer it for a boy, but think it could work on a girl. I don't think it needs a nickname, nor lends itself easily to one.
As for Afton, I also like it, but only for a girl. I think it sounds softer.

Nickname
Not sure which gender you intend for Afton but, for a boy, you've got "Ton" right there, as in "that boy's got a ton of charm", etc. :)
