It's also an old Portuguese name - a very patriotic one - in usage at least since the 10th century.Considering the Iberian Peninsula was invaded by germans after the fall of the Roman Empire, a potential Germanic origin isn't hard to believe at all. In fact, a large number of medieval Iberian names are Germanic in origin - Afonso, Gonçalo, Guiomar, Fernando, Rodrigo - and so are many modern Portugese words like "guerra" (war). As for the exact meaning, I'm clueless. I've seen it listed as "sword" but the sources weren't too reliable.Everly. Constance. Lux. Mary. // Hunter. Maxence. Valentine. Alexis.
