[Opinions] Raymond
Armand was my new favorite boys name until I found out it is only pronounced ar-MAWn so I would have to say it all French-like which isn't my style. I am kind of strict about pronunciation so I wouldn't just say it my way. I only thought Armand was said AR-mund because of a kid I knew in school whose name was actually Armen now that I looked into it. I like Armen ok, but not with my sons name, Warren, because it makes me think "armin'" and "warrin'" while the -d in Armand got rid of that problem for me. Then it occurred to me that "AR-mund" is very similar to Raymond and I am starting to strongly warm up to the name even though it is one I sort of disliked before. I like the nickname Ray, but I'm kind of a full name person so I'd probably say Raymond quite a bit. Would a Raymond ever be Raymond, or only Ray these days? How do you picture a Raymond? Do Warren and Raymond work well for brothers?

I think Warren and Raymond are awesome as brothers. I've only ever met two Raymonds, my uncle who went by Ray and the son of one of my customers (he's about 8) who goes by Raymond always. It's only two syllables so I don't see why it would be too big of an issue.

There's a Raymond in middle school where I work, and I've only heard him called Raymond. It's also my dad's name, but his dad was Ray, so they used his mom's family's tradition of using the middle name instead. He's usually Tom, sometimes Tommy (just certain cousins call him that). I think Raymond and Warren work for brothers, but then my mom's brother is Warren, so I've heard all of the names together all of the time.
