Samuel: I've known a few. They all seem to go by Sam. I know a man in his early forties named Sam, and I honestly don't know if his name is really Samuel or not, I don't know him well enough to ask.
Jessica: Have known quite a few of these and a second or third daughter might well have been named Jessica. Several are called Jess on occasion, but I don't know any that prefer Jess as the one name they're called by. The one Jessica I know that I've heard called Jessie is in her late sixties and I've only heard her called that a couple times.
James: Know lots of them and would have used it for a son. Several go by just James. Several men, never boys, are Jim. I knew one Jamie in school, I believe he was James, or maybe James was his middle name. Know of a male Jamie in his fifties, I think that might be his full name but not sure. My FIL is Jimmy, not James. Have known a few Jimmys and again, don't know if that's their full name or a nn.
Allie: The only Allie I can think of offhand is a friend's cat.
