My eldest dd is Katherine. I've always pronounced it with three syllables and so does she. No one else in the family (including my husband) does. It really doesn't bother me. In my experience, certain names (William, Julia, Christian) are pronounced either with two or three syllables. My way is to fully enunciate but that's just me.
