I say it "ah-na-ees." But the ee is very short. So if I say it fast it sounds almost (not quite) like "ah nice" ... the last part is much like the word naive. It does not rhyme with five, but it does not take too many milliseconds longer to say naive than it does to say five.
Honestly, if I were introduced to someone named "a-NAY-iss" and found out she spelled it Anais, I'd probably smirk and say to myself that they must have found it on the internet. IMO that is just the wrong pronunciation, regardless of how common it might be. Maybe if I were introduced to the Hebrew form of the name that you mention, which I've never heard of, I might be less inclined to judge. ??
