Partners Jemma and Kory live in a sleep coastal village in Devon, England.
Year One = Jemma is 21 and Kory has just turned 20 when they give birth to their first child, he is a little boy with straight brown hair and bright blue eyes, they name him Lukas Sydney.
Year Two = Despite Lukas being just a year old, the family travel to Mongolia where they stay for several months in the harsh wilderness.
Year Three = Lukas is developing into a curious little boy, his latest fascination is reptiles, Kory - much to the dissatisfaction of Jemma - buys his son a small gecko which Lukas happily names Bug.
Year Four = A terrible flood rocks the family's village, many many belongings, cars, and people are swept away in the deadly waves. Miraculously, the young family come away unharmed but the majority of their belongings have been lost or damaged beyond repair. For six long months Jemma, Kory, Lukas and Bug move in with Kory's older brother and his family of five until their home is in a condition which it can once again be habitable.
Year Five = After a long of painful battle with cancer Jemma's lovable Grandma Sadie passes away, Jemma was close to her grandma and her death has a catastrophic effect on her. She recluses into herself and doesn't seem interested in doing anything, including looking after Lukas. After several weeks Kory packs Jemma's bags and sends her on a relaxing break with her little sister, taking time off work to become a full time dad while Jem is away.
Year Six = On a recent trip to the zoo Lukas saw many exotic and wonderful creatures, however he took a particular liking to the birds, a few days after returned from the zoo Kory - once again - surprised his son with a beautifully coloured parrot which Jemma insisted on calling Polly.
Year Seven = Due to recent cutbacks in the budget Kory is devastated to learn that he is being released from his active duty in the navy and is being put on permanent standby. With Lukas in school now there is not much to do around the house, but he takes up gardening and some other mundane building tasks to keep him occupied and bring in some extra money.
Year Eight = Jemma and Kory had talked briefly of having another child after Lukas, but fate seemed to conspire against them with the flood, Grandma Sadie's death and recently with Kory's sacking; it never felt like a good time to bring another child into the world. With Lukas now seven it looks like he will never get a younger sibling, but nature has other ideas when Jemma finds out she's pregnant once again, and with twins! The babies are two fraternal girls; BabyA arrives with blonde, curly hair (who knows where that came from) and hazel eyes, BabyB arrives with red, straight hair and brown eyes. Jem and Kory name their babies Zoe Lucia and Georgina Bella.
Year Nine = Despite now having young children to look after in his spare time, Kory has also been working on a pet project. He's written a book, entitled 'Aquarium Job' about a fictional character called Robert Hero and his career in the navy.
Year Ten = When Jemma arrives home from work one evening she gets the shock of her life. A rat! In her house! Worse than that, it's in a cage, in her house, and her youngest children are playing with it! Lukas happily tells his mother that Kory bought the hairless rat for the twins after they'd watched Ratatouille the movie and got fixated with the creatures. Jemma relents, and learns that the latest addition to their family has been named Squeak.
After ten years this is how the Sheridan-Hooper family stands:
Jem (30) and Kory (29) with: Lukas (9), Zoe (2) and Georgie (2); and of course Bug (7), Polly (5) and Squeak (2mo).
