[Opinions] Ford
One of the guys I'm staying with is named Ford. Drives a Volkswagen. Nice name! Rather... upright. Not feeling creative with combos, just Arthur Ford and that's it. What do you guys think of this name? Any combos? It's like a real man's answer to Finn. ha ha ha

I kind of like it. Too bad it's a brand of cars...that turns me off of it a bit. It's got a cool sound though. It actually sounds like a celebrity name to me.

I don't like it. It just reminds me of the car company. Besides that, it's quite surname-ish, which I generally dislike. And it sounds cold to me.

There are many characters, things, and people that Ford reminds me of, but the most prominent at this time, is James "Sawyer" Ford from LOST... that television show holds me captive every night, hah.The name itself I guess is a bit rustic, straight to the point, no nonsense. Even though I have many associations for it, my mind would automatically come to the conclusion that the parents are a bit too smitten with their Ford car/truck, or something similar. It isn't a very professional name.

Arthur Ford? Seriously? Are you sure it isn't Ford Prefect and Arthur Dent? Or do you mean that you've thought of Arthur Ford as a possible combo yourself? I'm rather confused - too many Pan-Galactic Gargle-Blasters, I fear.

Uhh, I thought of Arthur Ford as a combo myself. Been a while since I read that book. Not bothered in particular by the coincidence, although I had forgotten there was anyone surnamed Dent. - one of the 3 boys in the house I'm staying with is surnamed Dent. Hmmm.

Remember this lovely bit of dialogue? "My name's Dent - Arthur Dent" " Come this way or you'll be late ... as in 'the late Dentarthurdent'"The man was a genius. He even invented Trillian!

One of my daughter's friends has a father named Ford. The last name is very similar in sound to Pinto, and I have to stop myself from referring to him as Ford Pinto.
With Ford you run the risk of any combo sounding like a new model of car.

I used to know a guy named Ford. He changed his name to that, legally.
I think it's alright. Kinda so dorky it's cool. Agree about the masculinity relative to Finn.
Arthur Ford sounds like Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy ... maybe that's why you thought of it.Ford Francis
