[Opinions] Asher
So, my SO and I have a hard time coming up with boys names. Recently, I've been thinking about the name Asher and I really like it... and so does he. We've been considering naming our future son Asher Gray. I really like it. It kind of reminds me of a superhero name. Our last name is Canela.
What's your opinion on it? Is it too much?

Thanks for all of the input, guys! I'm still considering it. We aren't pregnant yet but are trying... or going to be trying for one soon. So far this name is at the top of my list and it's a little "out there" considering most people in my family/community stick with safer names. I really like it, though.
I like Asher a lot. It's my favourite "Ash" name, I slightly prefer Archer which I think is really similar.
On the surface I don't see anything wrong with Asher Grey, except - and this is just me being picky - together the names bring to mind the physical ash, as in what is left after something in burned. The name Asher doesn't bring this association normally but because ash is grey, the two names together bring this.
I like Asher Clarke sounds very cool and superhero-ish, it goes well with Canela too! :)

It reminds me of 'ash gray', so the imagery I get is very dull. I think it is too much.
Superheroes need inconspicuous names for when they are wearing their undies in the right place. And Asher Gray could hardly be more, well, grey if it was covered with dust and cobwebs.
Either name on its own or with another partner would be fine. But it's a genuinely bleak combo. You could perhaps spice it up with another mn - Asher Dominic Gray? Asher Maxim Gray? Asher Henry Gray? Just to break it up a bit.

Very handsome and wearable combo - reminds me for some reason of Mr Darcy!
