Stanley proposed to his girlfriend -- the daughter of one of his parents’ colleagues -- straight out of high school. They were academic rivals for most of their school careers, each trying to be named valedictorian of their graduating class, but eventually they realized that a lot of the tension between them was due to a mutual attraction and started dating halfway through their senior year. (Stanley proposed, btw, during his salutatorian speech -- right before his girlfriend’s valedictorian one.)
Both Sam and Anna and Stanley’s fiancee’s parents were hesitant about their children becoming engaged so young, so to prove that they would still love each other, no matter what, Stanley and his fiancee waited to get married until after they’d graduated college. Thus, just this past summer, Sam and Anna welcomed a daughter-in-law into their family! Ever since Noel, and then Holly and Ivy, each moved out and went to college, Gilbert and Penny have indicated to their children that there’s “an emptiness in the house” without them, so, for Christmas this year, the Forrester kids went to the animal shelter and adopted a puppy for their parents, “to fill up the house again.”
Gilbert and Penny were delighted with their “new baby,” and -- in order for it to fit in with the rest of their “babies” -- gave it a Christmas-related name. (You choose the gender and breed.)
(Also, it does not have to be a “normal” name, like Christian or Gloria; it can be as weird or as wacky as you like, so long as it’s Christmas-themed.)

Gertie has always been a bookish, quiet girl, so when she brought a frat boy in a letterman jacket home from college and introduced him as her boyfriend, Dom and Olivia were initially concerned that this brash, charismatic boy would be a bad influence on their daughter. However, it wasn’t long before they realized that the oppositions in Gertie’s and her boyfriend’s personalities somehow worked and meshed together well, so they stopped worrying.
Gertie’s boyfriend’s first and middle names were trendy in America in the 1980’s, but he prefers to go by his “jock”-type nickname. His surname is Dutch.

About a year or two after taking Dominic in, Claire and Edie asked him if he wanted to join their family permanently. He eagerly agreed, but said he’d like to keep his surname, so Claire and Edie respected his decision.
Claire and Edie still take in foster kids, especially the older ones, now that their four eldest are out of the house, for the most part. Not every foster child is a “forever fit,” but Claire and Edie do their best to give each child a loving home, if only for a little while.
Recently, they’ve been placed with a Hispanic brother and sister, whose first names are both in the US Top 25 for 2012, middle names are Spanish names in the US Top 100 for 2012, and surname is Spanish. They are quiet and wary, but Claire and Edie hope that the kids will soon learn to trust them...
