[Opinions] Re: Felix
in reply to a message by Magz
I recognize it as a classic name, but I just don't like the sound of it at all. I don't actually hear "feel licks" when I hear it used as a name, but my emotional reaction to the name is mostly based on association with "feel licks." There's also an association with feline (there was a cat named Felix at one place where I worked for ten years), and the fussy guy from Odd Couple. I think it sounds wimpy and indoorsy and ... well, annoying. Either that or, on a US kid, it's kind of a wannabe-European, football (soccer) star type name like Didier or Fabio. I overheard someone calling a 5-year-old Felix and my reaction was ... chagrin? It's so feely and licky and ... not masculine, to my ears. I know this opinion does not help you, but thanks for the opportunity to comment.- mirfak
