[Opinions] Re: Jemma and Sandy
in reply to a message by Morgaine
There were so many Sandy people in the 1950s that my image of it is all tiny waists, flared skirts, Coca Cola advert style, perms and cigarettes and, bizarrely, ankle socks! And then time passed and their waists spread and their skirts flattened and they and their names (Patricia, Linda and the girls) went out of fashion.
Jemma, on the other hand, was never prevalent IRL. Gemma used to appear now and then, but I think mostly in fiction; if it has an image, it's a pretentious one. Jemma looks like a postmodern nn for Jemima.
