I think an obvious choice would be
Marly /
Marley / Marlie or perhaps
Marla, some others might be
Lena or
Lenny or even Lanie if you want to be far-fetched, M or Mar-mar there's obviously a lot. The one I think is the sweetest (and the nickname of the only
Marlene I know) is
Molly, which can then lead to Moll. I think
Molly is such a cute diminutive for a little girl who can't carry the weight of
Marlene. I personally am kind of sad that it is seen as an old and dated name, I wouldn't use it as a first name because I'd never want anyone to criticize her name all the time and middle names aren't used as often in public. I prefer the Dutch/German pronunciation of mahr-LAY-na.
Thoughts?
Ileana Elisabeth,
Francis Adriaan,
Théa Marlene and
Ira James /
Ira John.
