[Opinions] Re: Cecil / Cecilia
Cecelia is the kind of spelling error that sets my teeth on edge. Celia is nice, in its place, which is not as part of Cecilia.I believe that see-sil is the preferred American pronunciation. OK. Does it affect the way you pronounce Cecilia or Cecily? I'm only used to the ses- version for all of them.My father was probably the last of the Cecils. I'd use Cecily for a daughter and maybe Cecil as a mn, given enough sons.

Cecelia and Cecily are pronounced with a SIS when I say them, so no, the American prn of Cecil doesn't change them.I actually used to pronounce it SES-il before I started listening to Welcome to Night Vale, but now I have to try really hard to say it that way.
