[Opinions] Claudia
When I was pregnant with my first, my dad guessed the name "Claudia" in our baby pool. He meant it as a joke - along the lines of guessing Fritz or Ermentrud or something. But I realized then that I kind of liked it. And I think it's been growing on me.What do you think of Claudia? Is there something inherently unlikable about it - as my dad's actions suggest? Do you think it fits with my top four girls?
Mattea
Kezia
Soraya
YolandaGive me a few fun Claudia combos, if you will!

I love it, I think it's really elegant. I think it fits pretty well with Mattea and Yolanda.

I personally love the name Claudia. It was one of the first names I suggested (and thus, one of the first names the hubs shot down). He has a relative named Claude though, so for good reason. I think it has personality and history, but is still feminine and , frankly, adorable. However, it does not match your list for me. I tried to make it work with Soraya in my head (I like that name too), but it doesn't really. Senora might work with Claudia though.
Mattea/Matteo would work with Claudia the best from your list. I say that because I had friends named Claudia and Matteo in Germany and they were a couple that worked... so a sibset might make sense. Claudia Eileen
Claudia Jane
Claudia Soleil
Claudia Leonie
Claudia Irishope that helps!

A lot of people don't like this name because of "claude", but I think it's beautiful. It's always been one of my favorites.Yes, I think it fits in just fine with your other names. Here are a few combos:Claudia Jane (keepin' it simple)

What? Three people suggesting Claudia Maeve? Cool.

I like it a lot - unusual without being outlandish, feminine but not too frilly, and definitely nothing AT ALL like Ermentrud. Maybe your dad has scary Claudias in his past! lol.
It matches better with Mattea than the others for me, but it's not wildly out of place with them, and if you suddenly had quintuplets and those were their names, I'd think the sibset was pretty awesome.
My cousin is a Claudia - Claudia Jane, and for some reason I can't think of any other combos. Sorry.:)

This sums up what I am looking for in a girls name: "unusual without being outlandish, feminine but not too frilly"Glad you like it.Claudia Jane is a bit safe for my liking. :)May I never ever suddenly have quintuplets. LOL.

Claudia Maeve is very sweet. And you're the second one to suggest it, so that says something!
Claudia Sarai is cool.
Claudia Camille has some pretty great alliteration. I like it a lot.

Well, your dad obviously doesn't like Claudia at all, and in his mind it's as bad or worse than Ermintrude or whatever.
But Claudia's okay. It's pretty ordinary but not what you'd call common. I like it all right but it has a kind of cold, frosty feel to it that I can't explain. It doesn't really seem to fit with your girls' names. It's very "safe" compared to them.Claudia Suzanne
Claudia Joy
Claudia Frances
Claudia Michelle
Claudia Rose

I never thought of Claudia as safe, but I think you are right that it is safer than my others. Claudia Suzanne is fantastic!

I love Claudia. Not overly popular and never has been. I've known only one, a girl I went to high school with. She was a perfect straight A student and went on to attend Princeton. I don't understand at all why your father would think of it as a joke name, but that's the way it goes with individual opinions, I guess. I would love to see a baby Claudia. But I don't think it fits with your top four girls. Completely different style.

If you don't think it fits with my other four girls, how would you describe them? I have never really figured out my "style".

Sure, put me on the spot! I think I have to take it back. My first thought was that Claudia is classic, while the others struck me as modern. But looking at the entries of the others, they all, with the exception of Mattea, are actually old, or at least a form of an old name. Sound-wise, Claudia does fit in with them.
vote up1
Sorry. :)
And Matea with on T is a form of an old name too. I think that's one thing I really like about Mattea and Kezia - the modern appearance, yet with a history.

I think Claudia is nice. I like it pronounced claw-dee-uh, not cloud-ya.I think it goes quite well with your top four girls, which are quite diverse anyway.Claudia Magdalene
Claudia Verity
Claudia Miriam
Claudia Lorelei
Claudia Beatrice
Claudia Marjoram
Claudia Penelope
Claudia Willow

Yeah, I say claw-dee-uh too. Claudia Miriam is pretty nice and I like Claudia Lorelei too, but somehow all those combos are too long for me. Thanks though.

Wow, Claudia inherently ugly?? I don't really think so. It's an okay name but I guess I don't have any strong feelings about it at all. But I do think Ermentrude is ugly!Mattea - Is it said like Matti or Ma-tee-a? It's pretty cool either way!!
Kezia - Haa this is my name!! I go by Kizzy though xD
Soraya - I like this!! It's super cool.
Yolanda - is very very nice. I think it's got a lot more sophistication or something then the other names.

mah-TAY-ahKizzy is cute. Do you mind if I ask how old you are (or a range)? Just wondering if it will feel childish one day, or if it will be a lifelong nickname.
vote up1
Oh like that. Mah-TAY-ah. I really like this name :DNo it's okay. I'm almost 21. I guess it is kind of childish but I've been Kizzy since forever so it'd seem kinda weird to be like "you all have to call me Kezia now!!"
But maybe it'll feel too childish one day I dunno.
vote up1
If you like Kizzy, don't ever fel you have to give it up! I know one Kezia who is called Kez and Kezi. It seems to me that it would be an easier transition from Kezi to Kezia than from Kizzy to Kezia one day. Anyway, I love your name!Glad you like Mattea. The database here has Matea, but I like the two Ts.
vote up1
I guess I didn't ever really think about it much ^_^" I dunno why I'm Kizzy and not Kezi but they have Kizzy written as an English
variant here so I guess I can't be the only one. But in our accent you pronounce I and E vowels the same anyway so Kizzy and Kezi actually sound the same. Anyway thanks!!I think Mattea looks cool with two Ts as well :)
