[Games] Re: LadyBug's Simple Congrats - Sign-Ups

Because I'm in a superhero mood, and the rules weren't against it, so, hey, why not?
LN: Winters
DH: Malachi Raymond "Mal" Winters, alias Paradox
DW: Eira Veronica Winters (née Faulkner), alias Obsidian
The first three years Mal and Eira were friends, they didn't even knew each other's names. As far as she first knew him, he was Paradox, an illusion-casting supervillain; as far as he knew, Obsidian was a superpowerless vigilante - Mal didn't even know the person beneath the full-body costume was a woman until two years into their friendship, thanks to Eira's deliberately androgynous presentation. At first, they were just fellow vigilantes keeping the city clear of threats. Paradox operated in higher circles, weaving illusions and double-crossing his fellow conspirators whenever they troubled him; his greatest trick, doubtless, is the fact that he never was a villain at all, instead using his villainous façade to get insider information and subsequently deceive the real bad guys into his traps. Meanwhile, Obsidian kept the streets clean, prowling alleys and rooftops with her trusted twin daggers. Occasionally, Mal would lead his prey into Eira's path, and that was how they met.
But after all those years, their hero and civilian lives began to blur. Trust bred trust, and the two confided in each other. Five years to the day since they first met, Mal Winters and Eira Faulkner married in a local chapel. Nobody knew that the seemingly lazy unemployed Mal and bohemian artist Eira were moonlighting as heroes; conversely, nobody knew that Paradox and Obsidian were even acquainted with each other at all. It was perfect, really.
Perhaps even too perfect to be true.
Mutatis mutandis. Si non confectus, non reficiat.

I really enjoyed reading your story, so clever! I'd love to read more if you choose to write more. Of course a large family and eventually becoming grandparents might hamper the superhero story. :(
Thanks for playing!

Well, Mal and Eira will eventually have to retire from superheroics... but who's to say the next generations won't join in their footsteps? *wink* Just ask Mayday Parker, Nathan Summers (and his adoptive daughter, Hope), Damian Wayne, Kon-El, TJ Wagner...
