Help[Opinions] Percival, Gustav & Claude
Husband and I were talking about names again last night and I was trying to convince him that we should change our no.1 name from Theodore to Percival (totally not happening). :(
However, we were talking further about middle names. We were at a concert and I was thinking that for future son's 1st middle name I would like it to be a composer that I like. It would be sentimental and special :)
So at the moment we are loving:
Claude (Debussy)
Gustav (Holst, though also Mahler)
Percival (after Percy Grainger, even though his name was not Percival, I feel like Percy is too short).
So which is best? (SN is Arnold)

Theodore Percival Stewart

It's unexpected and a little quirky, sounds better than Claude, and does far better at honoring a composer than Percival.

If you really want to use a name from a composer, the Percival doesn't fit the bill. And my choice is easy between Claude and Gustav. So I'd go with Theodore Gustav Stewart. I think the flow is a bit off though. I don't like how the end of Gustav and the beginning of Stewart sounds together.

I'm with your husband. Theodore is a thousands better than Percival. Not that I actually like Theodore all that much... it's Theo I'm in love with ^_^
Besides, Percival sounds like the knight who was always trailing behind the others, dropping his lance and generally making a muck of things.
Out of those three middle names, probably Theodore Gustav sounds the best, much as I dislike Gustav. But followed by Stewart and then Arnold, it's starting to feel really heavy.
So in the end, I'm saying Theodore Claude Stewart, because Claude gives the combo some much needed air :)
