[Opinions] Odd Twin Set
I met a set of twins today named Jack and Jill. I just don't understand why! I like both names separately, but together it's kitschy.

Jack and Jill is pretty bad yet it could have been worse. They could have been given the names of famous lovers/marrieds such as Romeo and Juliet, Charles and Diana or Bradley and Angelina. ;-)BTW, Jack Daniel is pretty LULZ worthy. It's actually a handsome name.

It gets worse...(m)...I just found out that Jack's middle name is Daniel. *eyeroll*That mom is SO original.

I think it would make people happy -- so for me it's a positive feeling. I see no reason why, just because a familiar song or phrase exists, we have to dismiss a pair of classic names. Even if it's cheesy, it's a lot more pleasing to me than a try-hard-to-be-original combo like Zephyra Xiomara Ombeline -- vapid concoctions of names; cluttered messes that are so commonplace, especially here. I prefer sensible, and Jack and Jill win the sensible contest over most submissions here.

Yeah, but the key word is "try". At least Zephyra Xiomara Ombeline's parents tried , whereas Jack and Jill's parents just went, DUUURR, IT'S FUNNY CUZ OF THE RHYME, HUH?!?!Not my thing. Very lame. :P

Well, the parents were certainly inspired, weren't they? What lazy naming. The names aren't BAD, but sweet lord.

When I was little my mother was friends with a woman named Jenny and she had two kids named Jack and Jill. The father's name was Jarl. That reminds me that we also used to see a family with all L names; Leif, Leila, Leo and Laura (and their dog Laban). They had horses too, with names starting with L.

Kitschy is the word, I think. I can top it, or come close, though.
A couple years ago there was a woman in the news who killed her toddler twins out of spite to her ex-husband. The twins were named Adam and Eve.

That's so, so bad. Ugh!

Oh dear. Usually I prefer the full form of a name rather than a nn, though Jill counts as a full name, but I'm developing a headache trying to decide which is worse: Jack and Jill or John and Gillian.

Poor kids...

I wonder whether Jill is just Jill - I have wondered whether Jill will have her day in the sun again.

I hope not. Jillian/Gillian is nice, but Jill sucks, IMHO. One of the worst nicknames ever.

Yes, Jill is just Jill. Its her birth name.

YikesI bet they're REALLY sick of the jokes.

Well, they are newborns so no jokes yet except for staff at the hospital kind of whispering to themselves and giggling, me included. But, they have a whole lifetime of jokes to look forward to, I suppose.
