I've always loved this name ever since the first girl I met with this name. She was in my sisters class from 3rd to 6th grade but since we were in a k-12 school I'd often see her around the school. At first I hated Auggie as a nn but I ended up eventually liking Augie. She kind of reminded me of Pippi Long Stockings only with super curly pale sandy strawberry blonde hair and glasses but she had the cute little up-turned nose and tons of freckles.

I love that Augustine feels like a combination of August and Kristine. I knew a lot of girls around my age with the names Christina / Kristina and Christine / Kristine. I had a friend named Kristina in pre-school, then one named Christine / Kristine in elementary school. I was barely friends with another girl named Christina in elementary school. Then in middle school close friends with a Christina and a girl named Kristine but she went by her last name Zink. It's weird but now that I think about it any girls named Kristine or Christina in my class growing up always ended up becoming my friend. That's probably part of why I love Augustine so much - it's like a fresher Kristine to me.
