In fact, I prefer it on a boy.
I know plenty of people will say it is feminine, but it's a "place" name so I think people have just ascribed feminine characteristics to it because they are used to hearing it on girls.
I do happen to like it on girls too, I just prefer the sound and image for a boy. It's very primal and natural in imagery, yet it is soft and pretty. It shares many of the same sounds as other stereotypically male names (
Aidan,
Adan,
Adam,
Edom,
Edward, etc).
I just really appreciate it on boys.
