I love it! Unusual, but so pretty. I probably wouldn't use it as a first name in a country that had no French at all, but I'm in Canada so I think it would work here.
I know a Mikayla Soleil and I could see it easily working as a middle name anywhere.
I wouldn't give Soleil's siblings French names. But I might like it with something else that feels so light and bright.

It's used where I live (French-speaking Canada), usually as Marie-Soleil. But sometimes alone.
