I hate that it's faux Irish. It's an Irish word for "girl" but it's not used as a personal name in Ireland. So ignorant people use it thinking they are honoring their Irish heritage or some such foolishness, because genuine Irish names are hard to spell and pronounce. Anyway, not crazy about "een" endings.

It's nice ... I guess. I'm not that into names with stress on the second syllable and I think that might be why I just don't notice Colleen. It's sort of crisp and breezy, verging on cold and fleeting.
It's one of my fave names, so it is safe to say that I'm OK with it. ;)
Colleen is one of those names I like in theory- it's a real name with history, it's not too vowel-heavy and it ends with an N, which I like. However, in general I'm not keen on feminisations- I find Danielle or Gabrielle a bit weird, though I do love Tamsin, and although I know it isn't one, it sounds too much like Colin for me. It's a name I think I'd like to see more of, but, if pregnant, wouldn't consider using.

i really like it. i think it's simple but pretty and works well on a girl or a woman. and while i like a lot of -een names, i find it maybe more youthful sounding than some others or at least not as boring (but i don't really find the others boring per se haha). hard to describe but yeah, it's nice.

I love it. When I had my first baby name book (lost through moves when I was younger) it was a name I always visited when I looked through it.
It's a quiet yet upbeat name.

noooooo
Why?
It missed the "omg, we're so totally Irish" craze by several generations. It's not unattractive, but sounds to me like a rather mousy, boring kind of person.
Colleen is very pretty. It's known, but not overly used. I can see it making a comeback. :0)
I like it and now seems fresh.
I used to dislike it. It feels pretty dated and doesn't give me a particularly attractive or intelligent image. But in the last few years I've started liking it more. I'm not sure I'd say that I LIKE it, but I don't dislike it anymore. I'm able to find some parts of it appealing.
