[Opinions] Re: Dorothy
in reply to a message by Inspector Javert
I've warmed to it recently- my way of dealing with sounds I don't like is skimping on them, kind of mispronouncing them, often. For instance, I usually pronounce Angelique kind of, arn-ye-lee, with only a slight 'k' at the end, and missing out the 'zh' sound altogether. I do the same thing with Dorothy, so it comes out somewhere between 'dorayee' and 'doratee'. I like the nicknames Dot, Tia and Dora.
Names with the same feel as Dorothy... Well, I really like Dorothy and Talitha as a sibset. But some other ideas:
Alice
Eleanor
Myrtle
Caroline
Sybil
I'm not great at finding similar names, sorry. Combos:
Dorothy Maia
Dorothy Ellen
Dorothy Faith
Dorothy Jade
Dorothy Annemarie
Dorothy Caroline
Dorothy Caitlin
Dorothy Sinead
Dorothy Leda
Dorothy Margot
Dorothy Marian
Anna Dorothy
Lisbet Dorothy
Freya Dorothy
Eluned Dorothy
Alyssia Dorothy
Helen Dorothy
Sybil Dorothy
Eliza Dorothy
Isabelle Dorothy May
Dorothy Anna Lise
Freya Dorothy Kate
Lillian Maya Dorothy
Dorothy Louisa Jay
Dorothy Amelia Grace
Sorry for the sheer amount!

I like Talitha but I'm not sure if it would be useable since it's my friend's sister's name. Likewise, Alice, Caroline and Eleanor are also out. But thanks for the suggestions!
