This morning my mother told me about her Italian colleague. Her name is
Stefania and she has (twin?) daughters
Lavinia and
Eleonora.
Kimi Räikkönen, a Finnish Formula One racing driver for Ferrari, and his fiancée Minna-Mari "
Minttu" Virtanen named their son
Robin Ace Matias.
Matias is also
Kimi's middle name and honouring to
Kimi's father
Matti.
Ace was made up by
Robin's godfather
Gino Rosato, who works for Ferrari: it's a sort of joke for
Kimi's nickname "Iceman" ("
Ace and "Ice" kind of rhyme, right?).
Personally, I adore my mother's colleague's and her daughters' names. In the case of
Kimi Räikkönen's son's name, I would have prefer just
Robin Matias. Even though
Kimi and his family live abroad,
Ace just seems "wrong" for a child of two Finnish persons. Actually, I don't like
Ace even for a English speaking person.
What do you think of these names?
