Martha - as mentioned below Mattie is an old fashioned nickname

More of a stretch nicknames:
Margaret
Martina
Marietta
Marit

I think any M name with a prominent T sound would work.

Matalyn is just awful.

Also, I don't like Matalyn either. My husband and I differ greatly in our name preferences. He says all my names are "grandma names" haha.

My great grandmother was Native American, so her name was actually Many Roads, but she was given the Christian name Mattie when she began school. I do like Mattea!
