I actually really like Martha. It's one of those old gems to me... a balancing act between granny and adorable. Kind've like meeting a tiny-tot Agnes or Betty.
Anyway, lately I find my go-to middle name to be Gail / Gale / Gayle.
Martha Gayle is so retro chic to me that I think it works.
Martha Zenaide is also unexpectedly lively I think.
Martha Jane is simple and sweet, and it works because it is so solid and direct. However, I find Martha Caroline a bit more interesting. It makes me think that something like Martha Josephine would work too.
