[Opinions] Kelan
What do you think of Kelan for a boy? Do you prefer the spelling Kellan?

My nephew is Kellan. I do prefer the spelling Kellan, because Kelan looks feminine and like it should be pronounced kay-lahn.I wouldn't use it, but I don't mind it. It's the equivalent of Wyatt - kinda the modern Jason / Justin.

I don't like it. I had a student last year called Kelan (KEE-lan). It sounds a bit trashy and nothing to me.I would pronounce Kellan differently, rhyming with Ellen.

I like it, but not Kellan which I pronounce differently. I like Keelan as well.

It's obviously a legit name but unfortunately, it fits right in with a lot of made up names. I've known both a Cailen (f) and a Kaylan (m) as well as a Kylan (m). I'm not a fan, sorry. Also, at first I would pronounce Kelan and Kellan differently (I actually prefer Kellan).

I prefer the spelling Kellan. It just looks more complete to me. I think it is a very handsome choice for a boy.

To me they are almost two different names. Kelan looks like it could be pronounced Keelan or Kaylan. Kellan is clearly rhymed with the first part of Melanie. So I prefer Kellan, but only because the prn is unambiguous... the two spellings are about equally appealing to me. Kelan looks more masculine and balanced. There's a Kellan in my daughter's fourth grade who is quite short in stature and is also the most popular boy in the class, according to her. I think it's a pretty hip name ... like Aidan before it was, you know. Aydens all over.

I love it - this reminds me of the Baron Von Swieten's text to Hayden's (The) Creation - and at any spelling, this would still be music to my ears. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULnraLsaTyc
Mit Staunen sieht das Wunderwerk
Der Himmelsbürger frohe Schar,
Und laut ertönt aus ihren Kehlen
Des Schöpfers Lob,
Das Lob des zweiten Tags.
Und laut ertönt aus ihren Kehlen
Des Schopfers Lob,
Das Lob des zweiten Tags.

I think it's ok. I do like the sound of it. I prefer it spelled Kellan, it looks more correct to me, probably because that's the only way I've seen it spelled. It's the name of my cousin's son.
