Neutral, sliding to dislike.

I actually like Troy. I used to work with a very nice man named Troy, so maybe that influences my opinion. I might consider it as a middle name.

Mostly neutral, but I'm no fan. It doesn't roll off the tongue very smoothly.

I used to be ok with it then I met someone who totally ruined it for me.

Neutral. Nothing I'd ever pick for a child personally but I don't mind it. I used to really not care for it but over the years, it has grown on me a bit.

Troy is trying too hard to be cool. He's one of the popular kids in high school, but is utterly depressed when he loses his stardom upon graduation and never recovers. I've known a couple of perfectly nice Troys and yet when I hear the name it's this cliche movie character type guy who pops into my head.

Hi !!!I have to explain something bad about this name.In Italian the ancient town is called 'Troia'.But 'troia' is unfurtunately a vulgar and gergal word for 'whore, slut'.So even if I like the link with the ancient town in my mind there is always a link with this bad meaning.. I'm very sorry but I say the truthByeeee

I've never liked Troy. It reminds me of a dumb jock type. A big, brutish bully. Gaston from Beauty and the Beast could be named Troy.

I'm actually sitting in one of the many cities named Troy right now. I don't really like it for a person. It might just be the -oy sound, but I find it very unpleasant.

Strangely, I really dislike it for a boy, but find it rather cool on a girl. I know, it's weird!

I think I'm neutral, leaning towards dislike. I do like the way it looks but the sound is so short and guttural. It almost sounds like a cough or someone clearing their throat.
