[Opinions] British/Irish wind storm names (inspired by spacealien's post)
Right now, like the United States, we have storms taking place in the winter that are named, however unlike the names for winter storms in the US, where it was semi-officially named (by the Weather Channel) like Storm Jonas, the naming of our wind storms went to the Met Office in Britain and Met Éireann in Ireland as part of a pilot project. Here are the list of names for these windstorms (used names in bold):
Abigail
Barney
Clodagh
Desmond
Eva
Frank
Gertrude
Henry
Imogen
Jake
Katie
Lawrence
Mary
Nigel
Orla
Phil
Rhonda
Steve
Tegan
Vernon
WendyWDYT and how would you compare the list here with the ones used by the Weather Channel in the US?Link: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/news/in-depth/name-our-stormsMy PNL: http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/149249
