[Opinions] ideas for nickname
Hello there,My name is Mojdeh, it means good news in Persian. I like my name but it's kind of hard to pronounce for English speaking people. I have been looking for a nick name for a while but I cannot find something short, easy and preferably close to my name. I would appreciate suggestions.

Does it need to correspond to an English name?
I wouldn't think it was very hard to say Moja (MO-zhə) or Moji (MO-zhee).
The J sound might come out harder than it probably does in Mojdeh, but if you pronounced it ZH people might pick that up. Especially the Francophones. It would seem natural from Mojdeh, and cute IMO.

Thank you mifrak, I am looking for something easy to pronounce for francophones and anglophones as I live in Montreal. Moja and Moji are hard to pronounce for anglophones. basically I think any thing with j in the middle of the word.

I disagree. Deja-vu, bijou, hijack, Fiji, ajar, major, prejudice, ejaculate, majesty, mojo, rejoice, cajole, thingamajig ....
If you just don't like it, that's okay. :-)

That's true. I am not a native anglophone myself and thought the j in the middle of my name is the problem :D. I very much like Moji as my grandpa used to call me Moji. It always brings up good memories. I will give it a chance, I just always though they cannot say Mojdeh so Moji would be hard too :)

I myself was thinking about Maddy, Maggie, Megan(I know it's a different name but I like it) and Jade. I wlike to know your comments about them.

I think Maddy is a good fit for what you're looking for :)

I like Jade. It's pretty and minimalist.Megan is really common, which isn't something I usually like about names, but since you want something easily recognizable, I guess that'd be a positive factor? I think it'd be fine, if you want to use it.I don't particularly like either Maddy or Maggie (they seem kind of cutesy to me), but I prefer Maddy out of those two.

Thank you very much. It was a good evaluation. I have the same idea about Jade the only thing is it does not start with M :D
I think Megan is less common in Quebec as I just met one Megan since I moved to Quebec 5 years ago :).

What about Moira, or Moya?

Thank you Anneza :) Moira will be hard in French :((. Caprice suggested Moya too, it's very nice but I'm looking for something more common in French/English

There was a girl called Mojdeh in my school. Her name was really pronounced MOCH-deh, but it's difficult to pronounce for Swedish people, so we pronounced it MOY-deh.Nicknames for Mojdeh? What about Moya?

Thank you Caprice. Well, It's pronounced MOJ-Deh. J is pronounced like French. Moya is very nice but I am looking for something more common in French/English as I live in Quebec. I really appreciate your suggestion :)
