Guichard is from the Germanic name Wīghard, from wīg ‘battle’ (and not 'warrior') and hard ‘hard, strong’. You'll find the distribution of the name in France at tinyurl.com/jjvr8wr, in Canada at tinyurl.com/zp6c35u, and in the US at tinyurl.com/zk6xpm8.

It is likely French. Surnamedatabase has an entry on Guichard, stating it is from Wighard. This would give it the same meaning as Wighard.

Germanic dithematic names generally don't have "meanings" like that. Each element had a meaning which was somehow important (references to fame or glory, ethnic names, colours, power, protection, peace, battle, travel, weapons, property, land or wealth, totems, lordship or service etc.), but a preference for elements were as much about family tradition and identity as meaning and the chosen combinations could be rather arbitrary and oxymoronic.
