[Opinions] Ardelia

I came across this name in a film a while ago, and I liked it. It would make a nice alternative for Amelia or Amalia, which seem to become more and more popular each day.How do you guys feel about Ardelia? I wonder what its origins are, though.

It's might be in "Silence of the Lambs" you've found Ardelia. Clarice Starling have a best friend named Ardelia Mapp.I like it but I don't know about the origin.- Charlie

I believe it is Latin and probably means "fervent".

I definitely like the name Ardelia better than Amelia. I really dislike the name Amelia and I don't see what's so appealing about it. When I think of Amelia I think of Amelia Bedelia, so the picture in my head is of some crazy, quirky woman.
