[Opinions] Gilda
How do you feel about the name Gilda? A sudden adoration for it has come over me. (Honestly, I'm not sure why I never thought about it before. It's a bit dated and quite uncommon, snappy-sounding, and I think Gilda Radner was the tops. Plus, Gilda Rae sounds sharp to me.)
And if you have any suggestions for really smart-sounding combos Gilda might fit in, I'd appreciate them. I've been more in the mood for short and snappy than long and elegant as of late; Gilda Rae and Gilda Janine are the only two I've thought of just now.
Array (Gilda, Gilda, Gilda--I'm in raptures thinking it)
Let the children lose it
Let the children use it
Let all the children boogie

If your pronouncing it the same way i think Gilda Rae is nice, i detest Janine though..
Gilda Lenore would be lovely or:
Gilda Blythe
Gilda Verity (cute)
Gilda Sarai
Gilda Hanae
Gilda Rose (Plain but nice)

I would be pronuncing Gilda with a hard G actually, so that the first syllable was more like that of Gilbert than Jillian.
I really like Gilda Lenore--anything related to Poe is a thumbs-up in my book. :D I also like Gilda Blythe and Gilda Sarai a lot. Thank you, Bex!

Gilda is personally nms but I prefer it to Hilda. Gilda Rae sounds nice to me. I don't really care for the name Janine but Gilda Janine flows nicely.

It's the -ld- sound...right?
Hmm. I think I'm too old. The ld sound is okay to my ears on boys (and now I'm on the spot I can't think of an example), but not ready for reuse on girls?
Gilda sound like Gilded too, which too me is a bit negative.
On the other hand, I like it rather better than -say- Fraser, and if I met a Gilda IRL, I'd probably be pleased.
Gilda Jean / Jeanne is the only thing coming into my head.

I think it's actually the gil- sound, here. :) I could call her Gilly, which is very appealing. But on the other hand, I do love Hildegarde and Hildy, so it might be the -ld-.
I really like Gilda Jean. Jean's my sister's name and what I call her, so it'd be nice to use it.
