Do you think the Isla will often be misspelled and mispronounced? Does the name make you think of Islam?

I have never in my life thought about Islam when I see Isla.
I did meet a lady named Ila today and I thought that looked super weird on paper.

Don't think it would be misspelled or mispronounced. Doesn't make me think of Islam

I don't think it would be spelled/pronounced wrong here, but it is relatively common (#4). I have never thought of the Islam connection before because it is pronounced completely differently.

I think it would be mispronounced in the U.S. at first glance; I've seen people say Isla Fisher's name wrong and she's famous. It does not make me think of Islam.

Isla is insanely popular here in Australia! So it's not mispronounced!

Isla is super popular in BC, I've not known any of the Isla's I've met to have any problems with mispronunciation or misspelling.
It doesn't make me think of Islam.

I would hope that anyone who can pronounce 'island' can also pronounce Isla, and if they can't, then it'll be easy to explain it to them.
Anyone who knows anything about (a) Scottish geography and (b) Islam would never, ever confuse the two. It's been popular in the UK for some years, and they have a larger Muslim population than many countries. There seem to be no problems!

Isla is a pretty popular name (#141 in US, #4 in UK, #13 in AUS). It's not a problem.

It seems easy to spell, and if you think Island you can pronounce it.

All I think of is the Spanish word for "island". Islam doesn't even come to my mind.

It's pretty but it makes me think of Islam. Same with Isis, a very beautiful girl's name, but it makes me think of the terrorist group

Depends where you are.
Isla is well heard of in the UK and comes with the EYE-la pronunciation without a fuss.
Whether it would be this easy in other parts of the world, I would not know.

I know how to pronounce it only because I've looked it up and very occasionally heard it in the media, some actress or other.
In the UK, where it seems to be very popular I imagine there'd be no particular issue with spelling and pronunciation. In the US, the numbers say it's getting popular but I've never met one or heard of a real-life one. It could be tricky.
I knew somebody who twenty years ago had a baby girl and named her Ayla, after the character in the Clan of the Cave Bear series. She pronounced it like Isla, but years later when I read the book I found out the character's name rhymed with Kayla.

I've started to see it.
I know of two off the top of my head, and another child whose name is pronounced the name but spelled differently. (Not sure of the spelling, I'd have to go dig on facebook. It's the niece of my husband's coworker.)

I'm a fan of the books (Clan of..)..maybe not inspired writing, but I found them very interesting.
In my mind, I always pronounced Ayla as rhyming with Kayla.

I'm sure it would sometimes, but it's gotten much more common and recognizable (in the US at least) in the last few years. It doesn't make me think of the word Islam, never would cross my mind. The pronunciation is so ingrained.

Mispronounced when seen written, probably not. Misspelled when heard, probably. It does not make me think of Islam.

"La Isla Bonita" by Madonna is very likely to at least at first think that Isla is pronounced like the Spanish word in the song title.
