[Opinions] Re: Matching twin names; WDYT?
in reply to a message by Jude
Very sad story from the 1950s: conjoined twin girls were born, could not be successfully separated and died. They had been named, I think, Mary Ellen and Marie Helen. One sees the point, but it is depressing! That got me thinking about themed names, and I first went with anagrams (Marian and Marina; Alice and Celia) and then thought about meanings. I got four that I might actually have used, given identical quadruplets: Clare, Eloise, Helen and Lucy . I think Eloise is sufficiently distant from Helen, but maybe not.I once knew identical twins called Jane and Patricia (known as Pat), and another set called Gillian and Patricia (known as Patsy). In both cases, these are clearly the sort of names that the parents might have chosen for non-twin siblings, which is nice.
