Caiden and Jaye live together in a 2 story family home in Northern Ireland. Caiden is a political journalist for a local newspaper, while Jaye is a French teacher at a nearby secondary school.
Year 1 (2018)
After a year of marriage, Caiden and Jaye have welcomed a son!
DS: Tyrian "Ty" Daniel Waters

He's a very energetic child right from the get-go: he never stays in one place, and absolutely hates bedtime!
Year 2 (2019)
Only a year after Ty is born, Caiden and Jaye have a baby girl.

Ty seems delighted to have a playmate, but no one's really sure because he's 1. Caiden and Jaye are certainly overjoyed, but they sometimes struggle to balance work and caring for two small children.
Year 3 (2020)
The new decade brings something totally unexpected for the Waters family!

With 5 children all aged 3 or under, Caiden and Jaye are really beginning to feel the pressure. They're both very tired, but they love their family nonetheless, and they both enjoy their jobs.
Year 4 (2021)
A week of constant rain in February hits the Waters' area hard: many homes are flooded, including their own. The damage is pretty bad: they have to move in with Jaye's sister, Zoe, for a few months, and none of the small children enjoy the change. However, thanks to a few kind neighbours whose homes survived, they're up and running again by June.
Year 5 (2022)
After the stressful events of 2021, Caiden and Jaye decide to take a family holiday. Everyone piles into the car and heads down to Cornwall, where they enjoy two weeks of relaxation before Ty starts school.
Year 6 (2023)
2023 is a pretty dark year for the family. They live on a busy main road, and in the middle of a tantrum one day 4-year-old Ophelia runs out onto the road and is hit by a car moving at 40 miles per hour. She's lucky to survive, but as a consequence, she's paralysed from the waist down, and her family is told that she will never be able to walk again. As a result of Ophelia's changed needs, they move into a bungalow near London, where she'll be able to receive the care that she needs, which just isn't available in a small town in Ireland. Caiden gets a job with an online newspaper, while Jaye keeps on teaching French at a secondary school.
Year 7 (2024)
Jaye receives a pay rise after several teachers at the school complain that they're overworked and underpaid. It lessens the financial weight resting on their shoulders, and everyone is grateful for it. They're able to move to a bigger bungalow, and the triplets no longer have to share a bedroom.
Year 8 (2025)
Just when things had began to calm down, a new burst of craziness is released into the Waters' lives when the twins are born:

Tyrian's always been an athletic kid, and this year his Under 10s football team win the local cup. Everyone's delighted for him, and Caiden and Jaye celebrate by redecorating his bedroom - and while they're at it, they build an extension so the twins won't have to share a room with anyone but each other.
Year 9 (2026)
The whole family loved Cornwall in 2022, and it was a great decision to go and visit again 4 years later. It's lovely to see Ty and Ophelia rediscover the places they discovered when they were younger and show them to their younger siblings. It gives Caiden and Jaye some much deserved time to relax, too.
Year 10 (2027)
There's just no peace for the Waters family - my rolls are ridiculous!

Caiden and Jaye have decided 10 kids is definitely enough! In all the chaos, they decide that a pet probably wouldn't change too much, and so the kids are all delighted when they adopt two labradors - 3-year-old Hettie and 4-year-old Max.
Year 11 (2028)
The bungalow is getting pretty crowded, and Caiden's grandmother died at the grand old age of 97 this year. He's heartbroken, but she also left each of her grandchildren a fair bit of her money, and combined with much of their savings, the Waters family move into a mansion somewhere outside London. Both children and parents are thrilled by the new space, and Hettie and Max are grateful for the large garden. In fact, they're so grateful for it that they end up having a litter of 5 puppies: Lucky, Lily, Pepper, Jackson and Gus!
Year 12 (2029)
In 2029, Caiden, Alex and Constance get into a car crash. Caiden gets a few pretty bad cuts, and Alex breaks his arm, but overall they're okay. Constance, however, takes a blow to the head, and as a result losing all her hearing in her left ear, and 85% in her right. She's young enough that learning sign language wouldn't be too much of a challenge, but as her parents don't know any, communication is extremely difficult. They're sure that they'll get through it though, and with support from a local charity, they begin to train Gus as a hearing dog for Constance.
Year 13 (2030)
Ophelia's grown up to be an incredibly intelligent and dedicated girl, and it's recognised in 2030 through an award which commends her "focus, creativity, diligence and ability". Two of the puppies have been sold (Pepper and Jackson), but Lucky, Lily and Gus are staying with the Waters. Lucky is being trained as an assistance dog for Ophelia, Gus as a hearing dog for Constance, and Lily as a guide dog, who will be sold on to someone in the future. Constance and Jaye are picking up sign language well, as is Rosa, who has a knack for languages. Caiden's struggling, however, and it frustrates him that he's largely unable to communicate with his daughter.
Year 14 (2031)
Caiden decides to go back to university to pursue his dreams, and begins a 3-year degree in veterinary medicine. He keeps his job at the newspaper in the meantime. Perhaps after celebrating this, Jaye ends up pregnant again. And, goodness me, it's triplets again!

Year 15 (2032)
The stress of 13 children is too much for Caiden and Jaye. They've fallen out of love - they don't hate each other, but they don't want to be together anymore. They get a divorce and Jaye resumes her maiden name of Walker. However, they keep living together - neither wants to leave the children. Caiden stays single, focusing on his studies, but Jaye finds a boyfriend.

Year 16 (2033)
Cyril lives very nearby to Caiden and the kids, and so Jaye moves in with him. Viola breaks her arm playing hockey, and her restless, athletic nature is very frustrated by this - she's furious when she misses out on the final match of the year!

Cyril and Jaye get married this year. She becomes Jaye Zelda Elwin, and Caiden couldn't have been happier for her. The children all attend the wedding, with Ophelia and Jaye's sister Zoe as the bridesmaids. Mr & Mrs Elwin adopt a little girl from Brazil the same year!

In addition, Caiden gets his degree, and begins working as a veterinary surgeon.

Although Jaye visits regularly and many of the kids stay at hers often, Caiden naturally finds it hard to raise 13 children, especially when he's not great at communicating with Constance, who's now 7. To provide some support, his youngest sister moves in:

Sadly, Max and Hettie have both died. However, the Waters have since adopted a snake! She's called Jolene (after the Dolly Parton song, naturally!) and Sebastian and Athena in particular love to play with her.
Ty is 18 years old now, and headed off to university. He's studying sports science at Strathclyde University in Glasgow, and there he's met a girl!

Tamzen is still living with Caiden, but recently her girlfriend moved in as well. She really doesn't mind all the kids running around!

Year 21 (2038)
Caiden lost his job this year. It wasn't his fault, just bad luck. He takes some jobs here and there to support the 10 kids who still live with him: Ty, Ophelia and Viola have all moved out to go to university. Cyril and Jaye lend a hand whenever they can, despite having 3 kids of their own to raise too.
While Tyrian and Kirsty were delighted to have Innes, they're a little worried when Kirsty finds out she's pregnant again! She gives birth to a little brother for Innes:
