It took longer than I would have expected, but I've finally become smitten with Ianthe. I love the balance achieved between the airy "Ia" beginning and the grounded "the" ending, and both the meaning and the classical association are favorable. What does everyone think? For the record, I'm pronouncing it "eye-ANN-thee."

I really like Ianthe! I prefer ee-ANN-thee, but it's nice either way. It's fresh, and stylish. I recently changed my combo to Ianthe Arietta Sky, but I like these combos.

I love Ianthe Beatrice, Ianthe Caroline, Ianthe Gwendolen, Ianthe Margaret and Ianthe Phyllida best of all, but actually they're all good. Just about anything would be, except Nevaeh and Tiffany!

I much prefer the Late Latin variant Violante (vyoh-LAHN-teh). It was one of my favourite names when I was a teenager because it has a very Medieval and aristocratic vibe here.
Also the pronounciation that you said is terrible (I know it is normal there but I dislike). I would pronounce it YAHN-teh.
