[Opinions] Birth announcement
Parents Katherine Ray "Kasey" and Ryan announce the birth of their daughter, Amelia Odette. WDYT? I like both names, though Amelia is a little too trendy for me right now. Odette is a unique choice which I admire. I think it would've been interesting to mesh the two and see an Odilia.

I prefer Amalia to Amelia (I'm not crazy about the "meal" sound in the middle), but Amelia Odette is simply lovely.

Amelia is super common, but its a lovely name, I do prefer the spelling Emilia because of the medical condition, but it's still a lovely name. Odette is objectively fine, but it reminds me of odor and reeks of trying too hard.

pronunciationWhere I am, Amelia and Emilia are pronounced similarly, but not exactly the same (I prefer Emilia as well) - do you pronounce them exactly the same where you are?

There is a slight difference in the AA/Eh sound, but it's negligible enough that I'd consider them interchangeable.

Very nice. I really like Odette.

I like Odette a lot! I met a girl called this the other day; a friend's sister and it suited her so well. Also the name of my favourite restaurant, so the connotations are ALL positive :)

Not bad, I like Odette.

I agree with you about Amelia. Nice enough sounding, but far too common.I do like Odette, although I think it looks a little too blunt to be a first name. Odilia is interesting, but I find the Odil- beginning unappealing and mannish despite the feminine ending. I prefer Odessa, Odeya, or Olesia.
