All three have the grey eyes associated with royalty in Torrencian culture, though they all have different hair colors. Radek and Cathrin are excited about their new additions--Radek because there are now three heirs to the throne and Cathrin because she has wanted to be a mother for as long as she can remember. King Samuel and Queen Marta were delighted to welcome their grandchildren--something King Samuel didn't think he would see. His health continues to deteriorate and Crown Prince Radek has taken on most of the day-to-day operations of the kingdom.

Princes Otto and Milo and Princesses Theodora and Leona were too young to understand what was happening, but they got all dressed up and smiled and clapped with everyone else when their father was crowned. Archduchess Cathrin, now Queen Cathrin, renounced all former titles and claims when she took the Queenship, pledging her loyalty only to Torrencia.

Concerned, King Radek ordered an investigation by the Assembly, a 5-man council of advisors to the throne. After a month, the situation deteriorated and rebels began a series of coordinated strikes against the government. Chief Assemblyman Radim was assassinated, leading to much chaos and fear on the part of the populace. King Radek sent the Queen and the children, including Crown Prince Otto, into hiding while he tries to deal with the problems. He is hoping to avoid all out war with the rebels, but fears that it may come to that.

Seeing his failure, Calabria has begun to supply the rebels with supplies and aid. Although they haven't yet sent Calabrians into the country, the Assembly believes that war with Calabria is imminent. In fact, Torrencian infantrymen have just petitioned King Radek for public trial of a suspected Calabrian spy.

With the assistance of the large Organian army, the Torrencian infantry, cavalry, and naval forces handed a sound defeat to Calabria, annexing some of their territory and quashing the rebellious highland militia. Torrencia now returns to an uneasy peace. King Radek and Queen Cathrin were reunited in the royal palace after an eighteen month separation. The princes and princesses were overjoyed to see their father and the familiar sights of home again. King Radek and Queen Cathrin announced the third royal pregnancy three months after the declaration of peace. Prince Elias Henry Dexter was born just before the end of year celebrations. The Torrencian people saw his birth as a good omen for the year to come.
