Sir is just one of those typical stupid-celebrity-who-thinks-they're-royalty type names. It's just idiotic. Sir is not a name. Yes, in English it really sounds like roomy. It also makes me think of the word rumor even though not as much as the name Bruce and Demi chose for their daughter, Rumer.It's probably cute in Japanese and it has a pretty meaning. But I am sure it actually sounds completely different in Japanese as I have some Japanese friends with R-names and their R doesn't sound remotely like the English R.
